A perceived need to reduce government involvement in northern financial dealings is one of the topics Saskatchewan Party leader Brad Wall hopes to raise next month.

In response to Premier Lorne Calvert’s annual tour of the province, Wall is launching his own and plans to visit Beauval, Buffalo Narrows, Shoal Lake and other northern communities.

One area in which Wall hopes to gain political mileage is the government’s northern financial track record.

Wall claims the NDP involves itself too deeply in financial dealings between independent business and northern communities.

Wall also hopes to increase his party’s presence in the First Nations community and plans to visit at least four reserves during his tour.
