The Muskeg Lake Cree Nation adopted its own land management code today — becoming the fourth First Nation in Saskatchewan to do so.
Indian Affairs spokesman James Parker says this gives the First Nation more flexibility in the authority and governence of its lands.
Parker says band members showed support through a ratification vote.
The Muskoday First Nation, the Kinistin Saulteaux Nation and the Whitecap Dakota Nation have also adopted similar agreements.
