A sex offender well known to northeastern Saskatchewan appeared in a Prince Albert courtroom

this morning.

James Michael Bomeck is accused of possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

Yesterday, members of a joint RCMP and police task force arrested Bomek at the hot dog stand he was operating in downtown Prince Albert.

A further search of a residence resulted in a seizure of 171 marijuana cigarettes and approximately 33 grams of loose marijuana.

Police Sergeant Al Fraser says Bomek has been under investigation for quite some time.

The 56-year-old Bomek is a former lawyer who used to work out of Flin Flon.

In 2003, he was charged with approximately 40 different sex-related charges for actions he made against individuals in Pelican Narrows and other nearby Peter Ballantyne communities.
