Sokyrka And Haverstock Embark On Northern Tour

Ile-a-la-Crosse residents will be treated to a concert this evening by Theresa Sokyrka.

Last year’s Canadian Idol runner-up is accompanying Lieutenant-Governor Lynda Haverstock in what’s become an annual visit of northern schools.

Haverstock is handing out Northern Student Achievement Awards and Lieutenant-Governor’s Awards of Excellence to dozens of northern students this week.

The three-day tour began this morning in Wollaston Lake, and will take Haverstock and Sokyrka to Ile-a-la-Crosse this afternoon.

Tomorrow, they will travel to Cole Bay and La Loche, before wrapping up their visit with stops in Creighton and La Ronge on Wednesday.

Sokyrka is scheduled to perform again Wednesday evening in La Ronge.
