Sandy Bay Nurses Fear For Safety

Security guards are on duty today at the Sandy Bay health clinic.
This, after nurses temporarily left the northern village earlier this week after being threatened by some intoxicated patients.
Mamawetan-Churchill River Regional Health Authority CEO Lionel Chabot says the entire situation is unfortunate, but says posted security is needed to ensure worker safety.
Chabot also hopes the measure can be lifted sometime in the future.
He says motion detection lights will also be installed near the nurses’ residence as an added precaution.
