The disputed president of the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan plans to attend this week’s First Ministers’ Meeting on Aboriginal Issues.

Dwayne Roth says he will travel to Kelowna with the intention of meeting with federal Metis interlocutor Andy Scott.

Roth wants help from Scott in convincing the province to stay out of running a new MNS election.

He says he can’t believe the provincial government is trying to dictate terms on how a new vote should be held:

Roth adds he is open to the idea of including the province in the process of staging a new vote.

However, he says it has to be on the terms of Metis people and not anyone else.
