New School Opens On Flying Dust Reserve

The Flying Dust First Nation officially opened its new school today.
Titled Kopahawakenum School, the $5.3 million facility serves 135 students from nursery to Grade 4.
It includes a library, computer room and gymnasium.
Finance Minister Ralph Goodale was on hand for the event.
He says the new institution emphasizes aboriginal culture and identity.
Chief Percy Durocher says programming will be sensitive to spiritual, emotional, intellectual and physical needs.
