Health Region Scores Above Average Survey Results

Results from a province-wide survey of health care employees on ways to improve the workplace environment indicate the Mamawetan-Churchill River Regional Health Authority is above average in most respects.

Health region spokesperson Linda Mikolayenko says the survey results showed Mamawetan-Churchill River placed higher than average among other health regions in six of the eight areas surveyed — including physical environment and safety, work practice, communication, recognition, organizational commitment, and learning environment.

Mikolayenko says the region scored lower than the average on the respect and teamwork aspects of the survey.

She says the authority is going to continue to work to improve in all areas.

Roughly 40 per cent of MCRHR employees responded to the survey. They are based in La Ronge, Pinehouse, Sandy Bay, Creighton and Weyakwin.

Results for the Keewatin Yatthe health region have not been released. Officials from Keewatin Yatthe have been unavailable for comment.
