Mixed Prospects For Harvesters Of Rice, Mushrooms

The forecast is looking positive for wild mushroom pickers in the North.
Agrologist gerry Ivanochko says high snowfall amounts should translate into a wet spring.
He says a damp start to the season should be especially good for the Morel mushrooms.
However, those same conditions will make it hard for wild rice growers to have a good season.
Ivanochko says high water levels make it tough for rice to grow anywhere.
Having said that, he is hopeful a quick spring thaw will result in a longer growing season.
