Saskatchewan’s Water Security Agency says heavy snowfall in parts of the province last month has led to a revised spring runoff forecast.
The WSA says above normal snowfall in March was recorded in the area south of the Cypress Hills and near the communities of Scott, Prince Albert and Hudson Bay.
Those areas and the region north of Prince Albert up to Waskesiu Lake will likely experience well above normal runoff.
Widespread flooding is not expected, but there could be some localized flooding, including water over roadways.
With the cool temperatures across the province, snow melt runoff will be later than normal and that increases the risk of a rapid melt, which can cause high water levels.
