The unofficial results are in, and Peter A. Beatty has been re-elected as chief of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation.
The general election was held yesterday and Beatty was selected to a third term in office. He brought in a total of 1,799 votes, while his next closest rival was Karen Bird who received 1,152.
Chavonne Custer was next with 723 votes.
Fourteen people were elected to band council, with half of them being incumbents returning to office.
For band council in Southend, Darren Morin was elected and Kevin Morin was re-elected.
In Sandy Bay, incumbent Harvey Natewayes was elected along with Timothy Underwood.
In Pelican Narrows, voters chose incumbents Weldon McCallum, Myrtle Ballantyne and Justin Halcrow, along with Elizabeth Michel and Wesley Custer.
The two councillors elected in Deschambault Lake were Walter Ballantyne and Peter R. Beatty.
Marvin Morin was re-elected in Denare Beach.
In Sturgeon Landing, Charles Sinclair was re-elected and the Urban Councillor Warren McCallum was also re-elected.
