Two Saskatchewan Rush players were in La Loche Thursday, teaching students at three area schools there lacrosse.
Mark Matthews and Jeremy Thompson were at the Clearwater River Dene School, Dene High, and Ducharme Elementary. While with the students, Matthews and Thompson shared stories and discussed life — but also taught them about the fundamentals of lacrosse.
The players ensured that each student learned the basics of the game. “It was an amazing day. Very honoured I got to meet these kids and teach them about the game of lacrosse. Hopefully, they took something from what was shared today, and it will have a profound impact on them. We thank all three schools and the community of La Loche for welcoming us with open arms,” stated Thompson in a press release.
NexGen Energy helped to facilitate the event, saying they are grateful for what the players sharing their stories and love of lacrosse with the students.
