Life is slowly returning to normal on the Red Earth First Nation.

The last of the evacuees were sent back yesterday, and workers are now trying to assess how much damage was done from the floodwaters.

Chief Miller Nawakayas says he is proud of how his people pulled together and weathered the crisis.

He adds the government has told him it will assist the band in paying for the relief effort and other costs.
