A Saskatoon man has been hit with more than $3,000 in fines for illegally marketing wild game on social media.
Environment officials first became aware about a year ago of a post on a buy and sell Facebook page from an individual looking to buy wild meat.
They apparently warned the individual this is illegal a number of times, but to no avail.
In Saskatchewan, it is illegal to buy, trade, barter or sell wild meat.
Forty-one-year-old Danial Mitchell has pleaded guilty to trafficking in wildlife, unlawful possession of wildlife and is prohibited from purchasing a hunting licence for five years.
