The RCMP and the Office of the Chief Coroner are making another appeal to the public for information in the recent death of a man on the Ahtahkakoop First Nation.
The remains of 20-year-old Brennan Ahenakew were found in his burned vehicle on the reserve on May 11.
The RCMP say Mounties first became aware of the burning car the previous day — but the vehicle wasn’t searched.
The car was eventually searched the following day and the remains of Ahenakew — who had been previously declared missing — were found in the vehicle.
RCMP say anyone who had contact with Ahenakew or saw his two-door grey 2002 Pontiac Grand Am anywhere on the Ahtahkakoop First Nation between 11 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9 and 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 10 are asked to contact the Shellbrook RCMP Detachment or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
