The La Ronge Arts Council is gearing up for another summer of events which will include music, painting and culture.
The Arts Council made a presentation to La Ronge town council Wednesday evening, looking for ways the town can be involved in the various projects coming up, and maybe provide some funding.
Arts Council Chairperson Caron Dubnick says efforts have also been made to involve Indigenous people.
“We actually had the Truth and Reconciliation themed series of workshops and that has morphed into a plan to have a small mural downtown,” she said. “I believe its going to be on the urban rez.”
Dubnick says two members of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band are now on the Arts Council board.
An event being planned for this fall is Culture Days and details for that are still being worked out. The Arts Council is also hoping to work with the Town of La Ronge community development task force on plans for the future.
