Two people are facing charges after RCMP say they seized drugs in Sandy Bay on Canada Day.

Police say around 4 a.m. that morning, local citizens pointed out a vehicle which did not belong in the area.

While checks were being made on the driver a male passenger took off and ran off into the bush.

The female driver was arrested for failing to follow a court order while other passengers were questioned.

Investigators say they found 20 grams of crack cocaine and other items.

35-year-old Amanda Bear from Pelican Narrows is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.

25-year-old Michael Thomas from Pelican Narrows is charged with intimidation and failing to comply with probation.

Both were remanded and were scheduled to appear in Pelican Narrows court this morning.
