Prince Albert RCMP have charged a 21-year-old inmate after an alleged robbery and assault at a residence outside Red Wing, Saskatchewan last month.
Police responded to the incident shortly before 9 p.m. on June 25.
Officers say the male suspect pulled up in a truck outside the residence, assaulted the male victim and took his watch before driving away.
The victim was found to be unresponsive in his home following the assault and later died in hospital.
However, police say his death and the assault are not related.
Twenty-one-year-old Sheldon Hilliard Goodvoice is charged with robbery and violence in relation to the incident.
Goodvoice is a provincial corrections inmate serving his sentence at a community training residence in Prince Albert where he is monitored and under conditions.
He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Prince Albert tomorrow.
