AFN Chief Wants Tories Honor Kelowna Accord

The Chief of the Assembly of First Nations says he may not be talking about the Kelowna Accord much longer.
Phil Fontaine says he hopes the Tories honor the deal, but believes they may want to create their own plan.
Fontaine says that’s fine with him, as long as it provides as much money and resources as outlined in the Kelowna Accord.
For now, he says he’ll keep pushing Indian Affairs Minister Jim Prentice to accept the present deal.
Fontaine stresses it won’t matter what the deal is called in the end, as long as it delivers the necessary resources to close the standard-of-living gap between Aboriginals and Non-Aboriginals.
