Single mothers in Meadow Lake now have some more housing options open to them.

The province has cut the ribbon on a new $1.7-million apartment building aimed primarily at single parents.

First Nations and Metis Relations Minister Maynard Sonntag attended yesterday’s unveiling.

He says the new building will provide single parents with a place to stay while they search for long-term accommodations.

Sonntag says the facility also includes a 25-space daycare to assist those residents trying to find work.

The apartment complex features a total of 14 units.
