A Metis lawyer says she doubts everyone will agree on how to hold a new Metis Nation of Saskatchewan election.
However, Marilyn Poitras says she is optimistic everyone will agree that the way forward lies in a transparent and democratic process.
Last week, the government appointed Poitras and two other people to act as independent overseers throughout the creation of a new voting process.
Poitras says the first step is to create a voters list that everyone must abide by.
Poitras adds she and her two colleagues don’t have a set timeframe to work under.
However, she believes they will soon be busy talking to as many Metis as they can in an effort to gather feedback.
