The Sixties Scoop Indigenous Society of Saskatchewan has until the end of November to submit is final report of stories shared during six sharing circles taking place in October and November.
That report is to be given to the Premier’s office as information to assist an apology from the province.
A directive from the province says a $300,000 contribution is being made for the Sixties Scoop Indigenous Society to conduct the sharing circles and to get to the provincial apology.
The final event takes place in Regina November 24, 25 with final report due by the end of the month.
It is expected the apology could come in December or January.
A detailed budget summary forecasts $28,600 for the apology delivery and reception in an unspecified location.
The Sixties Scoop refers to when Indigenous children were removed from their homes by provincial child welfare services and placed in non-Indigenous homes.
