The RCMP in north conducted a three day road safety blitz in late October, targeting roadways in the Buffalo Narrows, Dillion, Ile a la Crosse and Turnor Lake areas.

“During the three days, 50 tickets under the Traffic Safety Act, 69 warnings, and 7 vehicle inspections were issued to drivers.  Also under the provincial violations, 4 vehicles were impounded for driving while suspended, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and being in care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired,” said an RCMP news release.

One person was also charged with impaired driving.

“One vehicle was stopped for dangerously exceeding the speed limit and ticketed. Another vehicle was observed on radar travelling at 173 kilometers per hour, but could not be pursued due to low visibly,” the release stated.
