The SLGA is reminding the Muscowpetung First Nation that their on-reserve cannabis retail store, is in their opinion illegal.
A letter to Chief Anthony Cappo says the First Nation does not have a license to sell recreational marijuana, and that the continued sale could put customers at risk.
The letter does not address legal enforcement or make any threats.
The province and the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations both claim jurisdiction over cannabis and both are prepared to go to court to resolve the issue.
