Six Candidates Nominated In La Loche Mayoral Race

There is no shortage of candidates challenging La Loche mayor Georgina Jolibois for her job this fall.

A total of six people have let their names stand for the northern village’s election for mayor on October 4th.

The list includes former mayor John “JJ” Janvier and former Metis local president Leonard Montgrand.

Emilien Janvier, Peter Janvier and Kenneth Lemaigre have also been nominated.

Last year, Jolibois attempted a move to federal politics, but lost the federal NDP nomination in northern Saskatchewan to Anita Jackson.
