The National Aboriginal Firefighters Competition is slated to begin in Prince Albert this week.
Seven teams from different provinces and territories will go up against Saskatchewan’s entry from Black Lake in the annual showcase of skill and proficiency.
Coordinator Richard Kent says before the competition begins on the weekend, the teams will engage in a special water rescue training exercise today.
Kent says the competition itself gets underway Saturday morning at the Prince Albert Grand Council.
Assembly of First Nations chief Phil Fontaine is expected to be one of the guest speakers.
