Twenty-five Indigenous and northern communities in Saskatchewan will soon have faster internet service.

SaskTel announced the expansion of interNET Extended 10 Tuesday which is twice as fast as the existing internet package available in these communities.

The announcement is included in SaskTel’s pledge to invest $301 million of capital in the province in 2018-19 and over $1.4 billion by 2023.

“Today’s announcement further illustrates SaskTel’s commitment to provide the residents of our province with high quality and reliable communication services so that we all may take full advantage of the economic, social, and educational opportunities the world has to offer,” Minister Responsible for SaskTel Don Morgan says in a released statement.

InterNET Extended 10 includes download speeds up to 10 megabits per second.
