Two teenage males have been charged with attempted murder after a shooting incident in the early morning hours of Saturday.

Police were called to the vicinity of 8th Avenue and Montague Street around 2 a.m. where they found a 23-year-old male who had been shot.

The man was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Police later arrested a 17-year-old and 18-year-old male at a residence in the 1300 block of Montague Street.

During a search of the residence, officers uncovered a firearm and ammunition.

The 17-year-old male from Regina cannot be named under the youth criminal justice act.

The 18-year-old is Donavon Kaisowatum of Regina.

Both suspects made their first court appearance on Monday morning.
