Carry the Kettle Woman Named Role Model

A 19-year-old woman from the Carry the Kettle First Nation received a prestigious award yesterday from Canada’s governor-general.
Alberta Eashappie-Prettyshield was in Ottawa to receive her National Aboriginal Role Model Award.
She was one of 12 Aboriginal role models recently chosen from First Nations, Metis and Inuit communities across the country.
The National Aboriginal Role Model Program is open to young people aged 13 to 30.
