The PAGC Senator’s Cup hockey tournament came to a close in Prince Albert, SK over the weekend at the Art Hauser Centre.
The Norway House Bruins beat the Canoe Lake Young Guns 5-3 in the final on Sunday. For their efforts, Norway House took home $20,000, while Canoe Lake earned $10,000.
This was the fifth installment of the tournament.
“It was great, like really competitive hockey,” said Tami McKenzie, an organizer for the tournament. “There were a lot of hockey players from western Canada, it’s always good, competitive hockey.”
McKenzie also says that the feedback was positive.
“They really liked the tournament and all of the stuff we’re adding like the livestream video – the interviews,” said McKenzie. “It felt kind of professional for them.”
This year, 12 teams competed in the event.
