La Loche RCMP say a 19-year-old man has died as the result of a weekend assault.
Police say they received a report of two men fighting outside and near a recreation area on Saturday night.
A third man tried to intervene but was also assaulted.
Dawson Herman was transported to hospital and was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving.
An autopsy has been ordered.
Twenty-year-old Jones Herman has been charged with second-degree murder.
He made his first appearance in La Loche Provincial Court on Monday morning.
