The La Ronge RCMP has become involved in the search for a missing Aboriginal man from the Flying Dust First Nation.
Band officials issued a public alert last week, asking that anyone with knowledge of Darwin Victor Merasty’s whereabouts get him to call home.
But that hasn’t turned up any sign of the 42-year-old man, and now, the Mounties are asking for the public’s assistance.
Merasty was last seen in La Ronge on Sunday, October 29th.
According to the RCMP, he indicated to others he was planning to hitchhike to Prince Albert and continue home to Meadow Lake, either by bus or by hitchhiking.
Merasty is approximately 5’8″ tall, weighs 155 lbs., and has brown eyes and thick black hair. He most likely doesn’t have facial hair, but it’s possible he may have a moustache.
He was last seen wearing a dark hat, dark jeans, dark jacket and running shoes. He was also carrying a dark duffel bag and a garbage bag containing his affects.
Merasty may also have had a green jacket with leather sleeves with a crest and the letters “MLTC” on it.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact their local police.
