RCMP say they have upgraded the search for a missing 25-year-old Edmonton woman to a homicide investigation.
Police say Tiki Brook-Lyn Laverdiere has been missing for close six weeks.
She was last seen in North Battleford and the last contact Laverdiere had with family was on May 1.
She had been in the North Battleford and Thunderchild First Nations areas a few days before to attend a funeral.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen Laverdiere since April 29 to come forward and believe she may have started hitchhiking back to Edmonton via Highway 16.
She is described as 5’ 4” tall, weighing 140 lbs, with burgundy hair, wears grey contact lenses, small tattoos on her neck and eyebrow and nose piercings.
At the time of her disappearance, she may have been carrying a Louis Vuitton handbag and was last seen wearing bright white shoes, a black jacket and pants with red and white stripes.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Battlefords RCMP at 306-446-1720 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
