The La Ronge Ice Wolves are set to open their pre-season schedule on Thursday night in Saskatoon when they face the Kindersley Klippers in a neutral-site affair.

“We got to keep it simple, I want to see a high compete level and work ethic,” said La Ronge Ice Wolves Head Coach and GM Kevin Kaminski. “I want the guys to just go play and have some fun. Be solid defensively, everyone be accountable.”

Kaminski says for all three of their exhibition contests, the team’s lineup will feature younger players, as well as some veterans.

“We will just try to see who fits with who — and get a feel for things for the following weekend against Flin Flon,” said Kaminski.

The Ice Wolves will also clash with the Klippers Friday in Saskatoon. Both games begin at 7:30 p.m. and will take place at the Rod Hamm Memorial Arena. The Ice Wolves will close out their exhibition schedule Saturday night in Nipawin versus the Hawks.

La Ronge kicks off the regular season Sept. 13 in Flin Flon versus the Bombers. You can catch that one live on MBC Network Radio with Braden Malsbury. The pre-game show will begin at 6:15 p.m. Saskatchewan time.

The Ice Wolves will then play their home opener the following night against the Bombers at the Mel Hegland Uniplex.
