A west-side politician says he thinks the MLA for Athabasca should be pushing harder to get a federal compensation deal for survivors of the boarding school in Ile a’la Crosse.
Phil Elliott notes the Provincial Government has waded into federal jurisdictions before.
He says he doesn’t see why Buckley Belanger isn’t banging the drum for Stephen Harper to come through on his pledge to compensate survivors of the school.
Elliott says both federal and provincial elections are on the horizon and efforts are immediately required to get a deal in place.
