People in northwestern Saskatchewan are mourning a fatal two-vehicle accident which killed a female toddler, male youth and male paramedic late Friday afternoon south of Beauval.
RCMP say the accident happened around 5 p.m. when a northbound Meadow Lake EMS ambulance collided with a southbound truck on Hwy 155, about 18 kilometres outside of Beauval.
The toddler, youth and paramedic were taken to hospital and later died from injuries.
The other occupant of the ambulance and other two occupants of the truck were also transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.
A press release from the Saskatchewan Health Authority says the ambulance was en route to a call when the accident happened.
Police say alcohol is not consider to be a factor in the crash but icy road conditions at the time may have been.
A section of Hwy 155 was closed as a result of the crash and not reopened until around 1 a.m. Saturday morning.
