The La Ronge Ice Wolves got into the Halloween spirit on Monday at practice.
The team dressed up in costumes and took part in a three-on-three tournament.
“It’s just a little way to give back to the boys for their efforts and everything,” said Ice Wolves Head Coach and GM Kevin Kaminksi. “I know this last week wasn’t the best, but it’s a long season. You got to make coming to the rink fun.”
Ice Wolves Head Coach and GM Kevin Kaminski has been in the coaching game since the 2000-01 season. He says that’s when he was introduced to the idea of a Halloween tournament.
“I’ve never seen it before until I coached with Mike Babcock, we did it the first year in Cincinnati,” said Kaminski. “When I went on my own after two years with him, I’ve been doing it ever since.”
Meanwhile, the Ice Wolves are back in action on Friday at home when they host the Melville Millionaires. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7:30 p.m. from the Mel Hegland Uniplex.
The Ice Wolves will close out their weekend on Saturday evening in Humboldt when they meet the Broncos for the second time this season.
