The Métis Nation-Saskatchewan honoured two of the province’s war veterans on Thursday.
Lucien (Jim) Boucher was honoured in Saskatoon and “Alice” Victoria Marie Samuel in Duck Lake.
Both are veterans of the Second World War and received $20,000 each in recognition of their service.
The money is part of the $30 million Canada-Métis Nation Veterans Recognition Payment Agreement.
Métis National Council President Clem Chartier and Métis Nation Minister of Veterans Affairs David Chartrand were at the Saskatoon ceremony.
