MBC Radio is taking part in this year’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon.

Our evening announcer Ken Landers is joined by our Cree broadcaster Abel Charles and Dene broadcaster Terrie Bekattla on-site at the new children’s hospital in Saskatoon.

The two-day radiothon wraps up on Thursday.

Dozens of radio stations from all over Saskatchewan are taking part in the nearly 48-hour live broadcasting event with funds raised going to the province’s first-ever maternal and children’s hospital.

Some of the big donations from northern Saskatchewan include $4,500 from Lac La Ronge Indian Band Chief Tammy Cook-Searson and close to $3,000 from the community of the Hatchet Lake Denesuline First Nation.

To donate, go to https://pattisonchildrens.ca/p/radiothon/  or phone 1-888-808-KIDS.

The radiothon raised a total of $750,000 for the children’s hospital.
