Merasty Calls Out Prentice

Northern Saskatchewan’s MP says Indian Affairs Minister Jim Prentice should be ashamed over his handling of the Ile-a-la-Crosse boarding school issue.
Gary Merasty says Prentice should come clean and admit he has been misleading the public about why the Tories plan to break an election promise to the school’s survivors.
Prentice has stated that the Conservatives didn’t have all the facts when the Prime Minister promised compensation to the former students last year.
But Merasty notes, during the same campaign, former Tory MP Jeremy Harrison acknowledged the school didn’t qualify under the residential school agreement-in-principle.
Merasty says Harrison indicted the Tories wouldn’t let that stop them from compensating the boarding school survivors.
The Liberal MP says it’s pretty clear the Conservatives are resorting to cover-ups and denials.
