Singer-Songwriter Celeigh Cardinal was in La Ronge this past Friday at Churchill High School to perform music from her growing discography of soul-infused ballads.
Cardinal is a multi-award winning Metis artist from Peace River, Alberta, who in 2018 was awarded Indigenous Artist of the Year for her sophomore release Everything and Nothing at All.
Opening up for the Celeigh Cardinal Trio was a local act: Dara Schindelka, supported by her son Sam.
Cardinal was joined in her trio by guitar player Brayden Treble, and keyboardist/mandolin player Brennan Cameron, who together entertained the audience with their soulful 3-part harmonies.
“All I really care about doing is liberating people, and normalizing things — I want to give people permission to feel their feelings” says Cardinal, of her craft.
