La Ronge RCMP say two local schools were put on lockdown Friday afternoon due to a report of a firearms threat.
Police say they received a call about 12:50 p.m. about a threat outside Bell’s Point Elementary School on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band reserve.
As a precaution, Bell’s Point and Senator Myles Venne schools were placed on lockdown.
RCMP say an investigation revealed no active threat to students, staff and residents and the lockdown has since been lifted.
