RCMP say a 70-year-old woman died as the result of a two-vehicle collision north of Green Lake on Sunday afternoon.

Police say the woman was driving south on Highway 155, about 45 kilometres north Green Lake, when she attempted to pass a semi-tractor trailer and collided with a northbound vehicle.

The woman was pronounced deceased on the scene and a youth passenger was taken to Saskatoon hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A 45-year-old man, the lone occupant of the other vehicle, was also taken to Saskatoon hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP say alcohol is not believed to be a factor but roads were covered with snow and visibility poor at the time of the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
