A northern Saskatchewan gold mine is suspending operations.
The Seabee Gold Operation is owned by Vancouver-based SSR Mining.
It is located about 125 kilometres northeast of La Ronge.
In a press release late Wednesday afternoon, the company says it will be entering into temporary care and maintenance until April 30 as a precautionary measure against the COVID-19 pandemic.
SSR says there are currently no confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus among the Seabee workforce.
In the release, SSR Mining President and CEO Paul Benson said the decision was made in light of the fact the mine is a remote, fly-in operation.
SSR says it will continue to monitor the ongoing situation.
The company also owns the Marigold gold mine in Nevada and Puna Operations in Argentina.
