A third person in the province has died due to complications of COVID-19.
Health officials said Wednesday it was a person in their 80’s.
No other details have been released.
Nine new confirmed cases were reported Wednesday, bringing the total to 193.
Currently, 24 cases can be traced back to a Christopher Lake snowmobile rally dinner on March 14.
Saskatoon continues to be the hotspot, as nearly 50 percent of coronavirus cases are located there.
94 of the cases are from the Saskatoon area, 43 from Regina, 37 from the north and three from the far north.
Positive news, in that nine more people have recovered, totaling 30.
To date, 10,528 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province.
Meanwhile the province has extended the state of emergency for an additional two weeks.
The current economic, movement, gathering and day-to-day restrictions will be in place until at least Easter.
“All of the orders that have been issued to date under the provincial state of emergency will continue. These measures I would say are working. They are working, because the people of Saskatchewan, each and every one of you are doing your part,” Moe said. “None of this is natural for us. None of this is easy for us, but all of it is worth it. These measures are working. Together we are spread and collectively we are flattening the curve. This will mean fewer hospitalizations and fewer deaths.”
Moe could not say how long the restrictions would be in place.
