The Central Urban Metis Federation has teamed up with three levels of government to provide affordable housing to a number of low-income families in Saskatoon.
Centenary Affordable Housing Program spokesperson Jacquie Bevill says CUMFI has been given over $1.2 million in funding to purchase and renovate two apartment blocks in Saskatoon’s Pleasant Hill neighbourhood.
The undertaking involves a 31-suite complex and an 11-suite building on Avenue P South.
Bevill says the renovated buildings will have a zero tolerance policy on drugs and alcohol, making the area perfect for families with children.
The buildings also happen to be close to schools, medical and retail services.
