Native Justice Reform Commission to Issue Report

A highly-anticipated report from the commission studying how the Saskatchewan justice system deals with Native people will be released this Thursday.
This will be the third interim report from the Commission on First Nations and Metis Peoples and Justice Reform.
Aside from several recommendations about how the justice system could better serve Aboriginal people, the report will include a detailed implementation plan.
Commission chair Willie Littlechild says other commissions that made recommendations to improve the lives of Native people have failed to bring about change because an implementation strategy was missing.
He says he and his fellow commission members are determined to see that their recommendations are not ignored.
The commission will conclude its work early next year and present its final report in mid-March.
