Two Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation communities are getting ready to head to the polls next week.
In a media release posted on the band’s official Facebook election page, Head Electoral Officer Burke Ratte said polls will be open on April 26 and 27.
Advance polls are set to go April 26, opening at 11 a.m. and going until 8 p.m. in both communities. The advance poll in Sturgeon Landing is at Namew Lake School, while the poll for Pelican Narrows is going to be at Wapawikoscikan School.
The election day polls are going on the 27th and are at the same locations. However, they have different hours going from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sturgeon Landing was unable to vote on the original election day due to a COVID outbreak in the community and Pelican Narrows is holding a re-vote after mistakes were made on election day.
