The Prince Albert Metis Women’s Association and YWCA are both getting some help from the federal government.
This morning, local MP Brian Fitzpatrick pledged $124,000 for the two groups.
The YWCA will get $44,000 to help set up an Aboriginal youth pilot program.
The Metis women’s organization is set to receive $80,000 to enhance its victim restitution program.
Fitzpatrick says he believes 57 per cent of Prince Albert’s population is under the age of 25, so he believes the money is well-targeted.
