La Ronge Residents Asked to Shop Local

Visions North Business Development and the La Ronge Chamber of Commerce are working hard to promote local business and encourage local residents to shop at home.
With the Christmas shopping season here, business owners in La Ronge are doing all they can to try and compete with the competition in the south.
Visions North spokesperson Vicky Ferguson says they have a number of long-term initiatives in mind to help the local business sector, along with some events planned specifically for the Christmas season.
Ferguson says they’ve been working on a business retention strategy for about a year now with the help of the local Chamber of Commerce, which recently drew its biggest crowd in a while at a members meeting in November.
Some long-term business retention initiatives may see a coupon booklet for local businesses and even a minted 3-dollar coin good for discounts at participating northern retailers.
